Key Activities in 2022

  • Funding activity was very high, although this year it was closer to normal with respect to the available budget following the extraordinary Covid years of 2020 and 2021. The high figure for the year was primarily due to funding for Morrow Batteries, the largest funding case ever in Agder.
  • Its industries and the composition of the business sector mean that the region is in a strong position in relation to the green transition. Several initiatives and projects are under way in the fields of biofuel, hydrogen, offshore wind and batteries. Several consortia with participants from Agder received funds through the Green Platform programme.
  • The GCE Node and Eyde-nettverket clusters have a strong presence in the region and new networks and clusters are being formed. Clusters are being encouraged to collaborate more to trigger synergies across industries and in new emerging industries.
  • ‘Setesdalsreisen’ and ‘Adventure guide Southern Norway’ are examples of strong business networks that are helping to develop tourism companies in the region, especially with a view to international guests.
  • The level of activities in relation to exports has developed further, and the dialogue taking place between companies, Innovation Norway, and the rest of the international business support system is increasing. The export strategy, with initiatives like Global Gateways and High Potential Opportunities, is providing good opportunities to help companies with international ambitions. These initiatives have strong support among growth and other companies in Agder.
  • Many customers use our expert and networking services, and deliveries span from short digital courses, via workshops on, for example, business modelling and networks, to development programmes over a longer period of time.
  • The Norwegian Travel Workshop (NTW) 2022 was held in Kristiansand in April with Visit Sørlandet as the technical organiser. It was a very successful event, and the region had an opportunity to showcase itself to several hundred international tour operators.
