Key Activities in 2022

  • Innlandet is an industrial county and is well positioned to take on a role in the circular economy and green transition. The cornerstone company Forestia AS wants to clean used timber from its own activities and invest heavily in establishing a new production line to handle such returned wood. It is estimated that the factory can create hundreds of jobs at Braskereidfoss in Våler Municipality. Innovation Norway Innlandet contributed a total of NOK 80 million to realising the project in 2022.
  • High-tech solutions for marking roads, airports, and car parks are being developed in Trysil. Trysil RRM AS makes machinery and equipment for customers in several countries, and 50 per cent of its business is based on exports. In 2022, the company was admitted to Innovation Norway’s Global Gateways export programme. This means that the company is monitored closely throughout the export process by an internationalisation adviser to help minimise risk and secure quick access to new markets.
  • NCE Heidner Biocluster in Hamar is Norway’s leading business cluster within the green bioeconomy and sustainable food production. The companies in the cluster work in research, innovation, and commercialisation of breeding, biotechnology, feed development, and residual raw materials. In 2022, the cluster was awarded the renowned ‘Gold Label’ mark for cluster management excellence. This makes the cluster more relevant for EU partnerships. Innovation Norway Innlandet contributes funding for operations and specific projects, including funding an EU adviser. The Norwegian Wood Cluster in Brumunddal is an expanded collaboration within the forest, industry, and construction value chain, and the intention is to develop it into an internationally leading business cluster for sustainable industrial wooden buildings. In 2022, we funded a pilot project in order to contribute to more digitalisation and automation within industrial wooden buildings, which is one of the cluster’s five focus areas. The project was awarded NOK 780,000 from the bioeconomy programme.
  • We have started establishing the Innlandet portfolio – a collaborative project run by Innlandet County Authority, the County Governor of Innlandet, and Innovation Norway Innlandet. The work is headed by EY. The result will be a portfolio that shows the most innovative, profitable, and circular innovation projects in Innlandet, and what it will take to realise them.
