Key Activities in 2022

  • In 2022, Vestfold og Telemark saw an increase of around 5 per cent in allocations to business development projects in the region that received funding from Innovation Norway. It is particularly gratifying to see that projects from all 23 of the region’s municipalities are represented.
  • 69 per cent of the approvals (NOK 253.7 million) are classified as having an environmental impact, which represents almost 70 per cent of the total funds allocated by Innovation Norway Vestfold og Telemark. A sustainable, green circular economy is important for value creation and businesses in our region.
  • Kragerø Municipality was awarded a Sustainable Destination label in 2022. Many other destinations in the region are now working on qualifying as a Sustainable Destination.
  • NOK 17.9 million from Green Platform calls for proposals were allocated to players in Vestfold og Telemark in 2022. The programme is targeted at ambitious collaborative projects that are designed to accelerate a green transition in business.
  • 2022 was Drangedal Municipality’s first year as a transitioning municipality and it was allocated NOK 375,000 for SME development. Some 20 companies were involved in a preliminary study, and ten companies at the end of 2022 were recommended for a preliminary project.
  • Companies that work together to develop themselves often enjoy a very good success rate. We are, therefore, very pleased with the good development of projects in Vestfold og Telemark within the business network programme.
  • In 2022, our region was also a pilot for a revitalised version of the FRAM programme with a focus on sustainability as part of the strategic management in the companies that participated in the programme. Two pilots have been set in motion: one programme for 12 companies in Tinn Municipality and a collaboration with Agder, with six companies from each county. These will be concluded in 2023.
  • In 2022, NOK 14 million was allocated to projects in our region for participation in EU projects with funding from Horizon Europe.
