Hordaland 2006
Innovation Norway Hordaland had an active and good year and can
boast of extensive activities with good results. The office has
substantial financing activities. In 2006 the office had a very
good budget utilisation and all of the local grant schemes were
utilised in full, with a total of around NOK 90 million in new
grants.
Norway is currently in a period of strong economic expansion and
the gross domestic product (GDP) for mainland Norway has grown by
over 3.5 per cent since the summer of 2003.
Capacity utilisation is nearing a historic high after a long
period of growth. Increased globalisation and structural changes
have allowed strong economic growth without prices and wages
taking off. The most important reasons are strong growth in
inexpensive imported goods, increased competition in the domestic
market, and increased labour immigration.
