Rogaland 2006

Business and industry in Rogaland is in high gear, and the outlook for the future is still good in the short term. There are, however, grounds for a sharpened effort in the regional battle for strategic resources and positions that are to secure the foundation for continued positive growth in the long term as well.

Economic changes have an early impact in Rogaland. The future outlook for the Norwegian economy is good, but there is a great deal of uncertainty associated with several important factors, which is reflected in the interest rate forecast.

Rogaland is currently one of Norway's most expansive regions. In the “Scenarios 2020” project important processes and forces that will make the county emerge as an innovative, energetic and attractive county in 2020 are pointed out. It will require a great deal of alertness and a sharpened effort to maintain and win the positions that are to form the foundation for a positive development.
